Let’s have a real talk about sexual intimacy, be Let’s have a real talk about sexual intimacy, because open communication is key! [save for faith-based marriage encouragement when you need it most!]

God blessed us with the beautiful gift of sex, and it’s meant to be enjoyed and cherished. But here’s the thing: if we shy away from talking about it or fail to communicate with our partner about what feels good, things can become lackluster and anti-climactic in the bedroom.🔥

Talking about desires, preferences, and boundaries with your husband or wife isn’t something to be embarrassed about and it definitely shouldn’t be swept under the rug. Creating an environment of trust and vulnerability where you can openly share your needs and explore new experiences together can lead to incredible growth and satisfaction in your relationship.

God wants you to experience pleasure and joy in this area of your marriage, and it bonds you in ways you may not realize.

To get our tools for a healthy, thriving emotional and physical connection, register for ✨The Sex and Intimacy Project for Couples.✨ Click the link in my bio to learn more! 👏🏼
Update on Sutton’s asthma. 💕⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I w Update on Sutton’s asthma. 💕⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I wanted to start by responding because I did get some hate comments on the post saying that I was “exposing Sutton” on video. I wanted to share that I always receive Sutton’s permission before posting anything, and that I took that video for his specialist. It was the middle of the night and I was (and am) genuinely desperate for any sort of help that we can get. We have lived in doctors offices and hospitals but haven’t received much in the past 5 1/2 years. I am sorry if it felt unnecessary to some or if I offended anyone. ⁣
⁣
✨With that said, I just wanted to thank everyone so much for all of the advice, prayers and encouragement on my last post about Sutton. I don’t think people realize how much it means to a parent going through this to feel like we have a wildly incredible village of support, especially to have people who have gone through something similar or can understand what we are going through.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I wrote down in my notebook every unique piece of advice and every recommendation that I received from that post and many were SO HELPFUL. I just want to say thank you because it means SO much 🥺.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
As a quick update on his appointment, we were finally able to see a specialist and she was AMAZING. We found out that Sutton is essentially allergic to *everything* that exists outside as well as cats, dogs & dairy. We are working quickly to change his diet and begin allergy shots. We have also changed his inhalers, allergy medicine and have an appointment with an ENT about his tonsils (we’ve already had his adenoids removed.) After literally hundreds of doctor’s appointments, this is the first time Jesse and I left with a feeling of relief. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
He’s still active and playing soccer which does help strengthen his lungs (like many of you mentioned!) We will continue trying homeopathic methods, getting rid of fragrances and detergents and will have a mold test done on the house. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
💕 THANK YOU again for your love and just for truly caring about Sutton (even though thousands of you have never met him). Jesus sees your love and compassion, and so do we. I wish I could give all of you a big hug. 🫶🏼💓
It’s incredibly easy to speak to our neighbors, It’s incredibly easy to speak to our neighbors, our friends and strangers more kindly than we speak to our husband or wife. [save & share for healthy marriage encouragement!]⁣
⁣
Jesse and I committed before marriage (thanks to a book by C.S. Lewis) to speak more kindly to one another than to anyone else. It isn’t always perfect by any means, but we are constantly aware of that commitment. I genuinely believe it is one of the main things that has made our marriage and friendship such a beautiful experience. But here’s the thing: when we consider our spouse a safe place where all of our anger, frustration, issues, and bitterness can be directed because we know they’ll show up the next day, we might find that they stop showing up after all.
⁣
Did you know that statistically it’s the “little foxes” (the small, continual issues) that eat away at a marriage, even more so than the big issues? ⁣
⁣
💭 Do you ever stop to think about how much your words or your tone are causing harm to your marriage? Do you feel hard-hearted toward one another but don’t know how you got here? ⁣
⁣
You know that you love one another (or you did at one point), and you want them to see the best of you, but you often have difficulty breaking down those walls or communicating your needs and desires.⁣
⁣
✨✨In both of our marriage courses, The Wife Project: From Roommates to Soulmates and The Intimacy Project for Couples, we give you the tools & communication skills that you need to become best friends again and treat one another in the way that you each deserve. ✨
⁣
🫶🏼 If you continue to feel like your spouse doesn’t meet your expectations and you struggle to “soften” with them, there will likely never be growth or restoration in your marriage without change and a lot of God’s grace. ⁣
⁣
✖️Remember: nothing changes if nothing changes, and a happy, thriving marriage won’t just fall into your lap. You have to take real steps toward friendship, kindness, gentleness and self-control. 🖤 ⁣

If you’re a soon-to-be-mama, an angel-baby mama, a step-mama, an adoptive mama, a single mama, a biological mama, a pregnant mama, a rainbow-baby mama…you deserve to be appreciated! 🖤 ⁣
⁣
I see you! And God sees your hard work, the late nights, the emotional weight, your cooking and cleaning, your tears of worry, your nights of prayer over your family, the safe place you provide in your home and your cuddles, hugs & kisses. It all matters and deserves to be appreciated and acknowledged. ⁣

⁣
As a wife, I strive to continuously find new things to learn about my husband and to pursue growth in our marriage. But that isn’t always easy,⁣⁣
and sometimes the frustrations outshine the laughter. My friend mentioned that she was interested in seeking marriage advice just to help she and her husband work through some arguments and frustrations, but felt like society makes it something to be ashamed of. And I think she’s right. Our world totally pushes the perspective that you only talk to other people about your marriage when it’s completely falling apart. But nobody wants to fall apart.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Here’s the thing: you wouldn’t wait until someone you loved was falling deeper and deeper under water until you jumped in to save them. As soon as their feet touched the water, you’d be in after them. We should treat our marriages the same way. Why would you wait until you’re drowning before you let someone help to pull you out?⁣
⁣⁣
Marriage can be hard. Life is hard. Allow people to speak into your life - whether you’re married or single - to help you to see God’s goodness and purpose for your marriage, especially in the moments when it isn’t always so easy. 💜👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼⁣⁣

Tripped on the stairs and almost broke my nose rig Tripped on the stairs and almost broke my nose right after taking this picture 😅. Had to document this because this guy is seriously just the best concert buddy and best friend. Many of my girl friends were fighting him for his ticket 😉, but he said he wanted to be next to me for all of the joy and excitement. 🥹 Also, devouring some @daddysdogsnash before the show is a must. #erastour
