Tennessee besties & slow livin’ 💕 Tennessee besties & slow livin’ 💕
It feels like the world is deeply fearful right no It feels like the world is deeply fearful right now. Nearly everyone I know has been stricken with stress, fear or concern about our current economy, politics, gas and food prices, relationships, taxes or the futures of their children.

If you’re feeling this, you’re not the only one. I recently told my counselor that, some days, I feel like I’m carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders. Not only with everything happening in the world, but everything happening within me - my sin, my insecurities, my anxiety, my lack of consistency.

Some days it can honestly feel difficult to find the silver lining.

But what I am (slowly) learning is the power of letting go of what I can’t control. It’s acknowledging the state of our world (because turning a blind eye doesn’t seem to be helpful, either) and the depth of my sin. It is lifting that up in prayer to a God who is actually in control. Our God who sees the big picture and has seen the beginning and the end.

He is not shocked by the brokenness or the pain in your world today; He is an empathetic counselor who grieves with us as we grieve the state of the world, even when we don’t understand.

He longs to hear what resides within our hearts, while deeply longing to replace our fear with the Hope that comes from Him alone.

We have access to this Hope. And some days, it is a choice to lean into it and to walk every day in the newness of life that Christ has offered to us.

We are set free. The bondage of fear, confusion and sin don’t have to keep us shackled. God has already won. Take a moment today to lift it up and let it go. It isn’t yours to carry, friend.

“We rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character and character produces hope and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” Romans 5:3-5
I have been planning a ✨surprise trip✨ to Flor I have been planning a ✨surprise trip✨ to Florida for Jesse for four months and it’s finally here!! 🏖

A few days ago, I gave Jesse a puzzle that he had to put together. I’m nerdy, so the puzzle built a letter “from Hogwarts” telling him that we would be leaving in only 4 days - and that everything was already scheduled & paid for.

He responded with both excitement and stress (which I expected 😂) but now he’s all in for some Universal Studios fun. 💕

I secretly flew our sweet babysitter from home out to Nashville to hang with the boys and they are THRILLED.

When we arrived at the airport for Jesse’s second surprise, his brother and sister-in-law were waiting there for him. 😭

It has been so much fun so far and a really good reprieve for us since our move. Today we do Epcot! Follow along on reels & stories on @lindsey.maestas for everything we do & eat! 😍
This is going to be our first full summer in Nashv This is going to be our first full summer in Nashville and I honestly spend most of my days dreaming about it. 😂 Sunshine gives me *life* so I’m very thankful it’s starting to show itself more. 😏 ⁣
⁣
Here are my plans for our “First Summer in Nashville”:⁣
⁣
1. Lots of pool days with the boys. (Also hoping I can get some good books in now that they’re a little bit older. Send your favorite reads my way!👇🏼)⁣
⁣
2. I grew up going to the lake often and I want to raise Sutton & Saxon doing the same. Boating, tubing & wakeboarding are on my list. 🚤 ⁣
⁣
3. My parents gifted us with season passes to Nashville Waterpark, so you’ll see us there often! We went once and had a blast. We definitely want to try SoundWaves at Gaylord for the first time, too. ⁣
⁣
4. We’ve committed to lounging at the Vineyards *every* week with our favorite neighborhood friends.⁣
⁣
5. We are heading to 30A near Rosemary Beach with our family! 🏝 It looks ✨magical✨ and oh-so-colorful. I am sooo excited for the boys to see the ocean for the first time! ⁣
⁣
6. I’ll also definitely be working and recording for the podcast. And hopefully working out more consistently than I am now. ⁣
⁣
7. Sutton will be going to his first summer camp at our church and he’s so excited!⁣ We are praying that Jesus continues to deepen his sweet faith.
⁣
8. Last but not least, we have to make at least *one* country summer concert happen. 🎵 ⁣
⁣
What am I missing?! What do you have planned for the summer? ⁣
Ashley and Dino Petrone (@arrowsandbow) are the re Ashley and Dino Petrone (@arrowsandbow) are the real deal. I genuinely loved this conversation with the two of them and their willingness to share honestly about what has worked and hasn’t worked within their relationship. ⁣
⁣
Join us on today’s conversation as we talk about a fun little competition that turned into having sex more often (much more often) and why they choose to do so. ⁣
⁣
They also discuss the safeguards they have put up within their relationship to ensure their marriage remains a safe place. ⁣
⁣
Dino talks about the boundaries that he has placed upon his own social media so that he continues to prioritize the trust and intimacy within his marriage and how he and Ashley have learned to hold one another accountable.  ⁣
⁣
When discussing insecurity and their new (beautiful) book ‘Designed to Last’, Ashley shares openly about the changes that she made within her faith when dealing with deep insecurity. ⁣
⁣
This convo is packed full with wisdom, so don’t miss it. 💕 Don't forget to share this episode & tag us in stories to let us know your thoughts! Available on Spotify, iTunes or wherever you get your podcasts. ⁣
Happy Resurrection Day!!! He is Risen 🙌🏼 and Happy Resurrection Day!!! He is Risen 🙌🏼 and we are celebrating!! What hope would we have without Him? 🙏🏼 I am so thankful for this life and for God’s blessing in allowing us to live in the power of His Gospel day in and day out. We love each and every one of you! 💕
