There is an up-and-coming philosophy of parenting called Gentle Parenting. Today’s guest, Dilshad from the popular account The Gentle Mamma, is sharing her insight on Gentle Parenting and the differences between this philosophy and that of punitive punishment.
Dilshad grew up in a traditional Indian family with typical punitive punishment. When she had her son, she wanted to re-consider all that had been passed down to her by past generations. She then came across the concept of Gentle Parenting, which basically says: no rewards and no punishments.
On today’s episode, Lindsey and Dilshad have a gracious conversation about dealing with anger as a parent (and practical tips to help you stop parenting out of anger), the differences between traditional parenting vs. gentle parenting as well as practical implementations.
