Now onto the INCREDIBLE ring cleaner…
Ladies – whether you’re newly engaged or you’ve been married for years, everyone wants to take great care of their rings!
This incredibly easy, fool-proof jewelry cleaner recipe will keep your rings shiny and you’ll never have to go to the jewelry store again!
I LOVE my rose gold rings and I want to take great care of them. But I have this thing about dry hands – I literally have to have lotion on at all times or I panic. I am also the queen of losing things which means I literally can’t take my wedding rings off for anything (no matter what!)
This combination is literally lethal for keeping my bling in tip-top shape. I destroy them with lotion, sunscreen, conditioner, you name it.

I used to go to the jewelry store on a monthly basis to get my rings cleaned but with two babies under 3, who on earth has time for that?!
A sweet family friend of ours shared this ring cleaning trick with me and I seriously haven’t been back to the jewelry store since!
This homemade ring wash recipe keeps my rings super shiny and it only takes a few minutes to get them back into brand-new condition. They are genuinely so shiny every time I finish doing this (which is now about every two weeks.)
The best part is that you will most likely have all of these ingredients in your house at all times!

What You’ll Need:
1/2 Cup Hot Water
1/2 Cup Windex
1 Tbsp. Baking Soda
1 Tbsp. Dawn Dish Soap
1 Tbsp. Vinegar
A toothbrush
Instructions:
Combine all ingredients together in a glass dish.
Set your rings in the liquid cleaner for 10-15 minutes (I like to do it while I’m getting ready.)
Use an old toothbrush to gently scrub the mixture in between the small diamonds.
Take the rings out, dry them off with a dish towel and you’re done!
I hope this ring wash saves you some trips to the jewelry store and keeps your bling as good as new. 🙂
With Grace,
Lindsey

I’m so excited about this! I always hate making time to go to the jewelry store to get my rings cleaned. Can’t wait to try it!
Have you tried this on other jewellery like silver chains and pedants?
it is suitable for all metal alloys. do not use this on costume jewellery or pearls, anything with threading.
I Love recipes looking forward to receiving them
It worked wonders for me. Am so excited.
This works beautifully! My rings are sparkling again!
Can you save this for a future jewelry cleaning session? If so, how?
Hi Beth! Yes! I just keep mine in a glass tupperware with a click-on lid. 🙂
How long does the solution last ?
Hi Katie! I will usually replace mine after about a month or two.
Is this safe to use on opals?
I haven’t tried that yet, but I don’t see why not. I would do some research first just to make sure it’s safe! Good luck!
Opal requires using your solution to clean. Dot a little olive oil on the opal rub it in the stone. Rub dry
I have a white/yellow combined charm bracelet, do you think it would be safe to clean with this solution?
Ok this really worked! Very well indeed!
I cut the recipe in half (lol almost out of dawn and only had a small glass container to store in)
Only thing I did different was I washed the rings after, sorry I got eczema and cant have anything on my skin that I dont put on it regularly. Still worked great! It’s so pretty now!!
I also subscribed to your podcast, I’m new to that but excited! Thanks again
White or Apple cider vinegar?
Hi Mary Lou,
White vinegar! 🙂
I have tried this even without the Windex. It works great!!
Hi Kathie,
I’m so glad!! Thanks for sharing!
What about silver and semi-precious stones? i hate cleaning silver!
can you save this solution to use over and over or do you have to make a new one every time?
Hi Jae,
You can save it!
Is the cleaner good for all jewellery? Silver/gold earrings / necklaces etc?
Hi Marilyn! I haven’t personally tried that; I’ve only tried it on white gold and diamonds, but I’ve heard from many people that it worked great on other jewelry!
A word of advice, never use baking soda and vinegar solution on jewelry with pearls, opal or any gemstone.
The delicacy of pearl, and other crystals or gems natural enamel or layer might be corroded by the mixture, and lose their luster. This is mainly used for gold-only pieces.

Can you use this in a jewelry cleaning machine?
I am writing from Scotland. What is Windex
It is a window and glass cleaner!
