You guys, it’s finally finished! And I’m in love!
I’m pretty sure God totally helped guide this process as I prayed for both of our boys before they were born. Both of their nurseries have matched their personalities so well. More proof that He truly does cares about the little things!
When I started to think about what the nursery would look like for our little Saxon Finn, I knew that I wanted a calm, relaxing and ‘safe’ space. Saxon loves being in my arms (his safe place) and is such a chill and calm little baby. Sutton’s nursery was bright, extremely colorful and super busy – which is a near-perfect description of his personality.
I love many rooms in our home, but I do have to say that I’m most proud of this space. I love the neutral tones with pops of black. Saxon isn’t even sleeping here yet, and I will randomly find myself in here just to read a book or to drink a cup of coffee in the morning.
When I got together with Adriana Long from Adriana Long Interiors to help put my thoughts (and hundreds of pins) to paper, she helped design it and made my dreams come to life.

It took a little bit longer than I planned to finally finish decorating; I bought and returned things more times than I’d like to admit and switched my removable wallpaper choice about 50 times (thank you WallGarnish Co. for being so patient with me!)
The only thing that I wish I could have done differently is to take out the ceiling fan and replace it with a large light fixture, but we live in a two-story house and the upstairs gets a little warm in the evenings.

One of the first things that I added to the nursery were the kid’s table and chairs. I wanted to make it clear to my toddler, Sutton, that he was also on my mind as I put Saxon’s nursery together.
I wanted him to not only feel welcome in this space at all times, I also wanted to use this as an opportunity to help him prepare to meet his little brother who would become such a huge part of his life.

It became really helpful as we played in there to use it as a teaching moment. I had the opportunity to remind Sutton to be gentle with Saxon’s things in the same way that he would need to be gentle with Saxon.
He seemed to respond really well to that and has taken great care of the nursery (and Saxon!) He loves using the little table to draw pictures for us and for his baby brother.
This room turned out to be all that I wanted and more. It’s neutral, modern, sophisticated and fun. The wallpaper was the perfect finishing touch to add the texture that I felt the room needed. I also believe that it will be a really easy
transition from nursery to toddler room as well, which is always a huge plus.
Jesse and I are pretty sure at this point that we’re done having babies, so although it was a lot of work, I’m thankful that I got it out of my system to create the perfect nurseries for our perfect little babies! I wouldn’t change it, or my life with them, for the world. <3
