This is an AMAZING post. Thank you thank you thank you : )
Thank you so much for reading Ashley!
I so needed to read this today! I've been going through people's instagrams, admiring their seemingly flawless beauty, husbands, families, homes, and vacations and realizing my life will never look like that. But you are right. Their lives aren't perfect. And mine won't be either. But that doesn't mean it won't be amazing
Love this... Funny how I can relate to the laundry soap all over the floor, it's happened a few times! This is good stuff. I love to be real sometimes too real, but it's what I do to reach the hearts of the hurting. Yes, my life has perfect moments but behind those perfect moments was lots of spilled laundry soap. Love your posts girl!
Haha I'm glad I'm not alone!! And yes, I completely agree reaching those who are hurting. God gives us comfort so that we can comfort others and this platform is one that we can use to do so. I'm so encouraged that you are also using it in that way! Thank you so much for your love and for reading! I appreciate it more than you know!
TRUTH. I love the story about the chaotic evening and your canceling your Insta post. Social media definitely makes it easy for us to compare ourselves to other people's lives - lives that aren't actually their lives because they're just one part of the whole story.
Exactly!!! You took the words right out of my mouth. Thank you so much for reading and for your encouragement sweet friend!
Thanks for writing the truth. Everyone needs this reminder about social media and the perfection one can portray through it all.
Thank you for reading! I have been so guilty of it sometimes and get that it would be best to voice it through my own perspective and many of the struggles that I face viewing other people's feeds. Love your encouragement - I appreciate you!
Love it sister! Beautifully said, as always ❤️
Thanks for reading Meg! Love you!
AWW This is beautiful. I LOVE your writing style. Sometimes I feel the same way, deceitful. I don't mean to be...but that's what people want to see! People tend to use social media to escape from their ordinary lives...and try to live their life through the photos. In turn, leaves them disappointed and angry and themselves....comparing and degrading their own worth and beauty. That's why I love this post. Such a great reminder for all of us. We are ALL human. :)
Awe Malissa, that means so much. Thank you! Yes, isn't that true?! We can't commit ourselves to continuously being real because then nobody would want to follow us haha. It's a rock and a hard place but I think it's all about working on finding that balance! We are definitely all human. Thanks so much for your love and encouragement!
So true! Thank you for bringing to our attention what we already know ,but decide to forget, for maybe for a moment it makes us pretend we feel better. We all need to be brought back to reality and you shared this perfectly! Thank you.
I love that - "decide to forget" - that is so true! We know it but almost don't want to believe it. You're welcome! Thank you so much for reading!!
Loved this post, so inspirational and TRUE ♥
Thank you Francesca! You are so sweet!
Love this Lindsey! ❤️ Who wants a perfect life anyway? BORING! ;)
Haha amen sister! That's the truth! Thank you for reading sweet girl!
Such truth!! And we all go through seasons in life and it's hard not to see past the current season. I experienced toys all over our house for many years but now we're in the season where the kids just want to be in their rooms. Social media snippets are never the full picture but I don't think it should be. Some things should be left private and sacred. Honestly, I assume everyone has messes because I do too. Ha! Social media can't be taken too serious. Real life relationships allow us to see one another at our best and worst and love each other no matter what. Thank you for sharing your heart with us.
Yes! Awe - I can imagine how different each season is. I have begun to love the toys (in my own little way) because I know that they won't be around forever! And I completely agree!! We don't have to have the responsibility to show the 'messy' side of life all the time, that's what real relationships are for. Social media is such a refreshment for me at times and I don't think it would be that way if it were solely a feed of "dirty laundry." There has to be a balance. Thanks for reading sweet friend!
